Can I place my YGBW membership on hold?

YGBW Members can place their membership on hold for two to six consecutive months.

If you will not be using the YMCA facilities for two to six months, you have two options to reduce your monthly membership cost and ensure you do not pay a $99 join fee when your full membership resumes.

  1. Transfer to a virtual membership - $8.99 per person per month
    • YGBW Members can transfer their membership to a virtual membership.
    • A virtual membership provides unlimited online access to hundreds of live and on demand classes taught by your favorite YMCA instructors. Yoga, BodyCOMBAT, BodyPUMP, Tai Chi, cycle, step, meditation and much more are all available at your fingertips--anywhere in the world--24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 
    • The cost for a virtual membership is $8.99 per month per member. (For example, if you have two individuals on your YGBW membership, the cost for both members to have access to a virtual membership is $17.98 per month.)
  1. Place membership on hold - $8.99 per month (fee waived for a medical reason with a doctor's note)
    • You can place your membership on hold for two to six consecutive months at a cost of $8.99 per month. If you are placing your membership on hold due to a medical reason, the monthly hold fee of $8.99 will be waived with a doctor's note.
    • During the hold period, no one on your membership will have access to YGBW facilities. 
    • Requests must be made seven business days notice prior to your monthly draft date. If less than seven business days notice is given, the hold may not go into effect until the following month.
    • A valid payment method must be kept on file for the entire length of the hold or your membership may be cancelled. The YMCA will automatically begin charging your payment method on file your regular membership rate at the end of your hold. Your membership will automatically resume at the end of the hold period--you will not be contacted prior to reactivation.
    • Submit a membership hold request. Once you complete this form, a member of our team will review your request and be in touch as quickly as possible to complete processing.
