Can all members use the outdoor pools at the YMCA?

An additional membership is available for purchase seasonally for most outdoor pools.

  • Which branches have outdoor pools?
    The following YGBW branches have outdoor pools: Brandywine YMCA, Jennersville YMCA, Kennett Area YMCA, Lionville Community YMCA, Upper Main Line YMCA and the West Chester Area YMCA.

  • Who can use the outdoor pools and when?
    All outdoor pools, except for the community pool at the Kennett Area YMCA and the Borst Pool at the Upper Main Line YMCA, require an additional seasonal membership that typically runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day annually. These memberships can be purchased on the YGBW website and at the member services desk prior to the start of the season.

  • How does the Y keep swimmers safe?
    At the YMCA, our highest priority is providing the safest environment possible for all. Anytime our pools are open, they are staffed by trained lifeguards. Additionally, children under the age of 14, are to complete a short swim evaluation so that we can ensure they have all necessary support to be safe in our pools.   • Can outdoor pool members brings guests to the pool?
    Except for the Upper Main Line YMCA's 50-meter pool, those with an outdoor pool membership can bring guests following the guest policy guidelines.
